We make knowledge sharing easy …

We began uTIPu as a group of colleagues who had worked together over the years and were known to be good with computers and software applications.  As a result, we have been asked over and over again, either in person, by phone, or via email, about every single possible thing one wants to do on a computer by family, friends and co-workers.   We found out that doing things on a computer is not like riding a bicycle.  No matter how thoroughly we explained it, the inquirer would inevitably return with the same or a similar question at some future time.  Multiplying this by 20 people and it turns into a pro-bono, part-time job.  Giving a man a fish is no good; teaching a man how to fish is not much better when it comes to computers.

Seriously, knowledge sharing or the lack of knowledge sharing is an important issue for any company.  Employees need to manage multiple responsibilities, learn to use a proliferating number of tools, and adapt to fast-paced changes.  Whether it is internal knowledge sharing among employees or external knowledge sharing and support for customers, the inability to share knowledge efficiently and effectively can be a huge detriment to a company’s competitiveness.

Thus, we founded uTIPu in April 2007 with a single objective – to alleviate the pain and frustration associated with sharing knowledge.   Because we all know something that is useful to others and we all have times when we need a little help ourselves, we knew that there had to be a better way to help one another and, indeed, we have found it.    We have developed the easiest-to-use, knowledge capturing and sharing technology that allows one to record his computer activities as a video with voice narration and to share it with anybody.   We call it the uTIPu Knowledge Networking Platform.  As for uTIPu, it means you-help-you.

We launched our services in February 2008 and have received very positive reviews and user feedback.  As we had anticipated, many companies have asked us to make our services available to them so they can share knowledge and ideas with their customers and amongst their employees.  Our public community offering is helping companies engage their customers in an ongoing, constructive conversation about how to solve the customers’ problems using these companies’ products and services.   Our private community offering is helping companies increase productivity by sharing and promoting best practices internally.
